Modern Scandinavian House Design

Designing a new home can be daunting, but it’s one of the best investments you’ll ever make. Not only will you create the home you truly want, but you’ll be putting your capital to work on your behalf for the duration of your home ownership. Finding the right contemporary house plans is a challenge, but that’s where Step One comes in. With 25 years of experience in the industry, Michael Dunsmuir has the expertise to create the house plan you’ve been dreaming of.

Affordable and Functional

The modern Scandinavian home design emerged in the 1950s alongside the modernist movement that swept both Europe and North America. The style aimed to deliver homes in a democratic, affordable fashion, characterized by clean lines, functional features, and a neutral colour palette. It emphasizes bright, light, and open spaces, with enough room to move and breathe within them.

Getting the Right Floor Plan

To find the right level of functionality, it’s vital for new home builders to choose a suitable floor plan. Now, you can buy floor plans online that meet your requirements and enhance the practical aspects of your modern Scandinavian home design features. Consider the size of the home’s footprint, analyze your family’s lifestyle and identify the rooms you use the most (and least!). Think about the flow as you move between the different spaces in the plan, and take a look at other houses to see what works and what doesn’t.

Buy Floor Plans Online

When you’re ready to buy floor plans, Step One’s practical modern Scandinavian home design comes with comprehensive, full 3D blueprints. Imagery perspectives included with your purchase contain detailed floor plans, elevations, cross-sections, and other particulars. On receipt of a .dwg file for your site, we will confirm whether your preferred house plan will fit on the lot.

Your Best Investment

When you choose Step One to provide your contemporary house plans, you can be certain you’re making the best possible investment in your future. All our plans can be made compliant with at least Step 3 of BC’s Step Code and meet the province’s energy-efficiency requirements.
